Health Ministry said, if there was no lockdown then there
could be so huge number of corona positive patients as the other countries in
the country and we all were looking like that scary lady in picture.
New Delhi: The Union Health Ministry said on Saturday that a total of 586 hospitals across the country have been identified as specialized hospitals for treatment of Covid-19, with more than one lakh 'isolation beds' and 11,500 'ICU beds'.
In the press conference, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of
Health, Luv Agarwal said that the government has already taken precautionary
steps to identify the area of hotspots in the country. In the absence of
other measures like lockdown and sealing of the infected area, by April 15, there
would have been more than 8.2 lakh cases of coronavirus infection in the
country.
At the same time, in response to a question, a senior Indian
Medical Research Council (ICMR) official said, "Five lakh 'antibody
testing kits' ordered by ICMR have not yet been received."
According to the Health Ministry, in the last 24 hours, 1035
new cases of Covid-19 have been reported across the country and 40 people have
died. In this way, the total number of infected people across the country
increased to 7,447 and so far 239 deaths have been recorded.

Agarwal also said that there is no shortage of anti-malarial
drug hydroxychloroquine in the country. Many experts have described this
medicine as an important medicine to prevent coronavirus infection.
The ICMR official announced that 1.7 lakh samples have been
examined so far to identify COVID-19 disease in the country, out of which
16,564 units were examined on Friday.
